Resolved - Investigations have concluded that this was an inbound IPv6 DDoS attack that was focused upstream but impacted particular routes while mitigation occurred.
Nov 13, 18:57 AEDT
Monitoring - All services have been restored. Early investigations show that this appeared to be a DDoS attack which caused latency to increase via particular routes. DDoS protection then kicked in and mitigated the attack which restored latency.

Engineers are monitoring.

Investigating - Please be advised that we are currently experiencing an unscheduled network incident that is impacting the latency to services and engineers are investigating both the impact and the root cause.

Updates will be provided as they become available.

If you have any questions regarding this incident please contact the network operations team at noc@hostednetwork.com.au or on 1300 781 148.

Scheduled - Hosted Network engineers will be performing critical network remediation work on our Sydney Edge Network to both resolve a transit redundancy issue that was identified from last nights outage and bringing on additional transit redundancy for further path resiliency.

Customers may experience up to 3x 5 minute interruptions on some routes while the transit services are migrated and the new ones brought online.

Services that are On-Net will not be interrupted during this maintenance, only services connecting to or from the Public Internet.

Thank you for your understanding.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us at support@hostednetwork.com.au

Resolved - This issue is currently resolved and was caused by an upstream transit provider outage. Hosted Network engineers are currently investigating why our redundant transit did not take effect and will be scheduling a maintenance window when appropriate to make any necessary changes to ensure this does not happen again in future.

Scheduled - **** RESCHEDULED: Tonight's maintenance was mistakenly posted for last night ****

Network engineers will be performing maintenance to migrate an upstream transit service to a new border router that has been brought into production to increase capacity within our Sydney Core network.

This work has been deemed urgent in order to maintain a high level of network performance for particular routes across our external transit network.

Customers on routes coming in via this transit service may experience a brief interruption of service (<30 seconds) while the routes propagate over our other transit providers and then again as the transit service is brought up on the new border router and the routes are restored.
