The upstream provider has advised that the fault was caused due to a memory failure in one of their routers which impacted packets being forwarded. They will be scheduling maintenance to replace the faulty memory.

The issue has been identified as an upstream issue impacting services out of our NextDC M1 data centre. The upstream provider is currently working on resolving the issue.
